Fuel — Privacy Policy

Fuel is a nutrition and fitness dashboard. Each account's data is private to that account — it is never shown to or shared with any other user of the app.

What we collect

• Account info. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Health & fitness data. With your permission, granted per category in Apple's own Health permission screen, the app reads Health data — activity, heart, sleep, body measurements, vitals, and workouts — to compute your energy balance, trends, and daily vitals signal. Fuel never writes to or modifies your Health data.
• Food & nutrition logs. Descriptions, photos, portion sizes, and the calories/macros you or the app estimate for what you eat.
• Location. Occasional, one-shot location samples — never continuous tracking — used to build your personal "places" eating-pattern view. Only captured while you're signed in.
• Goals & preferences. Calorie/macro targets and any free-text dietary preferences or context you write in.

How AI features work

Some features — nutrition estimation, meal plans, and coaching — use AI. On iPhone, Fuel prefers on-device models (Apple's FoundationModels and Vision frameworks) so your photos and text never leave your device for those tasks. Where a feature runs server-side, the relevant food description, photo, or health summary is sent to Google's Gemini API solely to generate that response, and is not used by us or Google to train models on your behalf.

Where your data lives

Server-side data is stored in a Postgres database operated by the developer, accessed only through your signed-in account. All network traffic uses HTTPS.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers.
• We do not show your data to other users of the app.
• We do not use your data for advertising.

If you connect a third-party AI client (for example, via the app's MCP integration), that client can read and write your data because you authorized it to — that access is under your control and can be revoked at any time.

Retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time at the contact address below.

Children

Fuel is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and the new version will appear at this address.
